New Moon Solar Eclipse at 29º of Aries. 04/20/2023
Eclipses are symbolic tunnels we enter as the Universe closes one door behind us, and opens another one ahead of us. They are the moment between inhale and exhale. But while we are in the tunnel, it can be dark, no doors are to be seen, just surrender that is being pulled out of our bones. It can be disorienting to be in the hands of the energies that ultimately are taking you places you didn’t realize were available to you, places that can feel like they are stirring all sorts of fears, but in reality through these portals our path is revealed.
This is the first Eclipse in the Aries/Libra series that is going to unfold in the next almost 2 years. First thing first, find where Aries lands in your chart, what house does it activate? That will be an area of expansion for you in the many months to come. Opposite sign Libra, will be a place where you can meet past experiences and entanglements to finally have them released or positively integrated. It is important to note, that the Nodes are still on the axis of Taurus/Scorpio, we are not yet done with the recalibration of our value systems and a profound recognition of the shame and guilt that has prevented us from stepping into the life that is representing those values.
This total Solar Eclipse arrives very early on Thursday or late on Wednesday, depending on where you are. This Eclipse is of 129 Saros cycle (the cycles of eclipses that have similar themes and origin), last Eclipse of this Saros cycle took place on April 8th of 2005 at 19 degrees of Aries. The fact that this Eclipse happens at the critical 29th degree adds a sense of finality, the ending that is no longer up to us, and if we are willing to lay down the arms, we may begin a new chapter with a fullness and rigor that is represented by this Arian energy. The beginning of an end that is here to untie the knots of misalignment is the theme of this Eclipse.
The ruler of this lunation is Mars in its fall sign of Cancer. The sensitivity that is boiling up, heating our senses and asking us to hold ourselves tightly and with care, as the feelings, our deep running needs and desires start to demand attention and recognition. What we need and want is stirred on a very instinctual level during this eclipse portal, all the support we require is like a naked wire right now, electrifying us and those in our energetic field. This Eclipse forms an out of sign square to Pluto in Aquarius. This is about enough friction being generated internally through a myriad of expressions like anger, sadness, deep yearning, loss of power, desire, so we can cross the threshold of resistance to meet the necessary endings and embrace the growing pains of meeting ourselves again.
