Sun conjunct Mars at 25º of Scorpio. 11/17/2023

Piercing into the essence of truth. Every two years Sun, the primary source of light in our system, the archetype of an ego, sense of self, of our core desires meets with Mars, the warrior principle, the will to overcome, to exercise courage and determination. This is the meeting that breathes and speaks power and resolve, this is the meeting that craves honesty, honesty with oneself and with the hidden desires that demand our recognition. This is like a New Moon phase, but for Mars.  The purification and rebirth of Martian principles. The rawness here is unmatched, let all that has been left in the shadows for far too long be revealed, your strength resides there. This energy is here to transmute your relationship to energy, to the concept of ambition and to the importance of sharp focus. One of the most important qualities in this moment of time is the ability to direct your energy independently and with purpose. This quality, cultivated collectively, has a capacity to turn the tide of our times, but if we are being careless and impatient with our life force, the consequence can show up as the loss of our collective agency and power.

Sun and Mars meet in the fixed water domain of Scorpio at 25th degree (locate the house this conjunction is activating), here the truth yearns to be discovered, and death of certain ways of being is often a catalyst. Last time we had this conjunction in Scorpio was in November of 1991, and the two following years were under the influence of the conjunction. Here are some of the key events from that period: End of Apartheid in South Africa; dissolution of Soviet Union and formation of independent countries like Ukraine, Armenia, Belarus and others; dissolution of Yugoslavia; Madrid Conference of Peace ( held to bring Palestinian and Israeli governments face to face for a resolution of conflict through diplomatic means); first Nagorno-Karabakh War. All of the above is still unfortunately very relevant, and will have a certain level of culmination in the next two years. 

Scorpio deals with hidden resources, oil, gas, minerals and valuable metals. The powers of this world will be involved in a prominent battle over these resources, and make no mistake with Scorpio holding this meeting, these battles will be ruthless, with the “means justify the ends” mentality. But what can we do, what is coded in the cosmic messages? We need to go beyond the surface (Scorpio principle), we need to do our research, we can't afford the non-involvement, because this is truly about every single person on the earth, cause the fabric of the society is being changed through the power and the will of very few, and that can only shift if the power and the will of many enter the conversation. That is Mars/Sun in Scorpio, the sharpening of the individual and collective courage and focus. 

This conjunction is forming an opposition to Uranus in Taurus, once again this is about resources, land, money, hidden long term plans being illuminated, leaders of the world meeting martian opposition. The events are not going as planned by the symbolic “Suns” of the world (leaders and the powerful ones), the disruption of financial institutions is imminent here.

The Moon, which represents the people, is in Capricorn, approaching her conjunction to Pluto. The crisis and the death of certain collective identity can be transmuted into collective empowerment  and strategic action if courage is applied of course. On an individual level, you need to dig deep and get to the core of what truly drives you, what holds the key to the reservoir of your personal power, what is the primal principle on which you base all your decisions and choices? Often the reservoir of power is hidden underneath the layers of shame and fear, what neglected the most is what our soul craves the most. Another thing is strategic patience and devotion to one’s goals. Sit with your true desires and make a plan for the next two years, be bold, and be real about the value systems from which your plans sprout.
